The Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve is an innovative product combination consisting of a speaking valve and a permanently integrated HME filter. For laryngectomised patients with a voice prosthesis, this product combines all the advantages of an HME, i.e. heating, humidifying and filtering the breathing air, with the advantage of a speech option without requiring the use of fingers.
The Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve is the first to offer an HME cassette with an integrated, customisable disposable speaking valve. The primary product feature, the HME function, is intended for pulmonary rehabilitation.
Two different HME filter qualities (Classic Flow® or Easy Flow®) are available to choose from to be able to use the appropriate breathing resistance for a comfortable breathing and speech situation. The Classic Flow® HME achieves high humidification, warming, filtering of the breathing air and adequate breathing resistance after laryngectomy. The lower resistance of the Easy Flow®HME is suitable for use during physical exertion while providing suitable breathing gas conditioning results at the same time (heating, moistening, filtering). If the HME filter is soiled by secretion or dirt particles, it must be changed for hygienic reasons.
The secondary product feature of the Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve, the speech valve, promotes voice rehabilitation. A special internal speaking membrane allows unhindered inhalation and exhalation in the open membrane position. Only when the blowing pressure is increased does the speaking valve close automatically and make phonation possible via voice prosthesis. The very individual adjustment options via the two HME variants and the grid-free adjustment of the membrane opening enable exceptionally good phonation results. Particularly in everyday situations, this system simplifies adjustment of the membrane opening as required.
The smoothly turning housing enables the best possible adjustment of the internal speech membrane during use. This way, the membrane opening can be optimised during use according to the situation, for example during physical exertion. A satisfactory speaking result is achieved or restored immediately without the use of fingers. In addition, the Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve eliminates the need for daily cleaning of the speaking valve in support of hygienically beneficial single use. The transparent and particularly flat design also ensures a skin-colour-friendly match and makes for a very discreet appearance. The Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve is compatible with all tracheostomy tubes or base plates with a 22 mm connector.

Les patients laryngectomisés et porteurs d’une prothèse de phonation retrouvent dans ce produit tous les avantages d’un HME qui réunit à la fois le réchauffement, l’humidification et la filtration de l’air respiré ainsi que l’avantage d’une option de phonation sans obstruction digitale.
Le Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve est le premier produit à proposer une cassette HME équipée d’une valve de phonation intégrée, réglable et à usage unique. La principale caractéristique du produit, la fonction HME, sert à la rééducation pulmonaire.
Deux qualités de filtration par HME différentes (Classic Flow® ou Easy Flow®) sont proposées pour offrir la résistance respiratoire appropriée et ainsi assurer une respiration et une phonation confortables. L’échangeur Classic Flow® HME offre une humidification, un réchauffement, ainsi qu’une filtration de l’air respiré élevés et une résistance respiratoire appropriée suite à une laryngectomie. La moindre résistance de l’échangeur Easy Flow® HME convient à une utilisation en cas d’efforts physiques simultanément associée à des résultats appropriés en termes de conditionnement des gaz respiratoires. (Réchauffement, humidification, filtration) En cas de souillure du filtre HME par des sécrétions ou des impuretés, un changement est prévu pour des raisons d’hygiène.
Caractéristique secondaire du Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve : sa valve de phonation stimule la rééducation phonatoire. Une membrane de phonation interne spéciale permet en position ouverte une inspiration et une expiration libres. La valve de phonation ne s’obture automatiquement qu’en présence d’une pression de soufflage supérieure, ce qui permet alors la phonation par le biais de la prothèse. Les possibilités d’ajustement très personnelles permises par les deux versions d’échangeur HME et le réglage en continu de l’ouverture de la membrane offrent d’excellents résultats de phonation. Ce système simplifie l’adaptation de l’ouverture de la membrane en fonction des besoins, tout particulièrement au quotidien.
Une légère rotation au niveau du boîtier permet de régler au mieux la membrane de phonation interne en cours d’utilisation. Il est ainsi possible de profiter d’une optimisation de l’ouverture de la membrane en cours d’utilisation et en fonction des besoins, par ex. en cas d’efforts physiques. Chaque personne appareillée peut donc obtenir ou retrouver un résultat de phonation satisfaisant sans obstruction digitale. Le Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve fait aussi disparaître le nettoyage quotidien de la valve de phonation au profit d’un usage unique plus hygiénique. Le design transparent et particulièrement aplani garantit par ailleurs une adaptation à s’y méprendre à la peau du patient et offre une apparence très discrète. Blom-Singer® SpeakFree™ HME Hands Free Valve est compatible avec toutes les canules trachéales ou plaques de base avec connecteur de 22 mm.
